Following the successful launch of the Design the Future initiative at Bwaila Secondary School, 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐗 continued the pilot phase of the program at Mkwichi Secondary School on Friday, June 13.
The session brought together 69 students, including 29 girls, for a highly interactive and inspiring workshop that focused on building inspiration in creative and digital skills among secondary school learners.
Students were engaged in several key areas, including: Art Drawing, Videography, Journalism and Storytelling, Entrepreneurship and Marketing , Software Development, Motion and Graphics Design.
A major highlight of the day was the live demonstration and hands-on testing of 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐉𝐈 𝐀𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭-𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐕𝐢𝐞𝐰 (𝐅𝐏𝐕) 𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐞. This experience offered students a glimpse into the modern world of videography and storytelling, sparking interest in drone technology and visual storytelling tools.
Building on the momentum from the previous session at Bwaila, the Mkwichi event benefited from lessons learned, allowing for a smoother, more impactful experience. The enthusiasm from students was overwhelming, with even those who had not pre-registered being given the opportunity to join due to the high level of interest.
“It was exciting to see so many students eager to explore their creative side. The energy, curiosity, and willingness to learn were truly encouraging,” shared Ekari Faria, Chief Creative Officer at InspireX.
With the Mkwichi session successfully completed, InspireX now sets its sights on Chipasula Secondary School, the third and final school in the pilot phase. Across the three schools—Bwaila, Mkwichi, and Chipasula—the initiative aims to impact 150 students, with a long-term vision of reaching 50,000 learners by 2030.
The Design the Future initiative is being implemented in collaboration with Noble Minds, a creative and IT consultancy, as part of a broader mission to empower Malawi’s youth and support the country’s aspirations under the Malawi 2063 agenda.
